"My Town" BOM Stitch-a-Long

This is a for-fun blog, and I'd love for you to join me.

I'm going to be doing the new Homespun Magazine 2011 BOM called "My Town" which will support the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia. The first block is in Homespun 12.3. I'd also like to thank Homespun Magazine for allowing me to use their images for this blog.

Good to be stitching again

I haven't been doing a lot of stitching lately because
in the holidays the kids and I moved house.....
This is a pic of the little townhouse that we now call home....
The sewing room is half unpacked and I decided to do
some work on my "Town Hall" block the other night....
I only had to stitch the stems which I now have
and do the grub rose and lazy daisy topiary trees....
I had been a little stuck on this because bullion
stitch is not something I have done a lot of....
So after a bit of research on good old google....
I found these instructions....
Then it was now or never and I started my first rose.....
Ta Dah! Amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it....
Still looking a little dull waiting on some greenery....
I had best go as Alison and I are off to Carinda this morning
for a sewing day out on Saturday with some Carinda ladies.....
Have a great weekend....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Kate

www.welovefrenchknots.com I think is another good instruction place for bullion roses. I have trouble with them and found that this way was very easy. I just have to do the centre block and put it together but am glad that others are a slow as me. They will look great when they are all done.
