"My Town" BOM Stitch-a-Long

This is a for-fun blog, and I'd love for you to join me.

I'm going to be doing the new Homespun Magazine 2011 BOM called "My Town" which will support the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia. The first block is in Homespun 12.3. I'd also like to thank Homespun Magazine for allowing me to use their images for this blog.

Karen and Terrie's progress

Karen and Terrie brought their My Town blocks to share on Wednesday. Makes me feel guilty about my progress! Here are two more of Terrie's blocks.

She is still working on the Teahouse.
Karen has been VERY busy and has stitched these lovely stitcheries to go in the corners of her My Town quilt. They will look very effective.

My Town Hall

I thought I had better dig out the blocks for "My Town"
quilt or I will never get my little town finished.....
I have almost completed the "Town Hall" Block....
It is ready to have the topiary trees stitched....
But do you think I can find the Homespun Magazine!!!!! Grrr!
I am hoping it is at Alison's house....
I have also made a decision on the centre "Home" block....
I will be using this Hatched and Patched Pattern for
my block because the other one has not grown on me....
Now off to find that Homespun!
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Karen's Town Hall

Karen brought in her finished Town Hall on Wednesday. Wish mine was done too!
Don't her pots of roses look great?

Karen's Teahouse

Karen popped in quickly on Wednesday to show her lovely Teahouse block from My Town. The quilt is finished now in the Homespun magazine but we are still working on it! Looks great, Karen.
I need to get on with the community hall!

The Teahouse

I forgot to show you this block of My Town. It is a bother when you take on too many BOMs to keep up and even to work out where you are up to! I finished stitching this block after Christmas and it just needs to be coloured. I am not sure about the colouring so may leave it like this for now.

My Town Hall Progress

Wow the 3rd of January......
The festive Season seems a blurr already.....
The time is flying by way too fast for my liking.....
Well in true holiday spirit I sat out on my back deck
yesterday and stitched the best part of the day away.....
It felt good to be doing some stitching again.....
I was working on my Town Hall block
for the My Town Mystery Quilt....
I have finished all of the button hole applique.....
And have transferred the windows etc ready for stitching.....
This is the part I really enjoy....Adding the detail....
This one has two topiary trees that are
made from grub roses and lazy daisies....
They should look cute.....
I hope to get a bit more stitched today......
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Town Hall Fused for Stitching

This is my latest block for "My Town" Mystery Quilt....
The Town Hall has been fused and is ready to stitch.....
It should look a lot like this when it is finished.....
I really like this block so will not be making any changes....
This is the October block so I am lagging a bit behind....
And the reason for this is because when the November block
"Home" arrived I was a bit dissappointed and
thought it seemed to be lacking something.....
Being the Centre block I was expecting a little more.....
So this made me loose a bit of interest UNTIL........... the
December Homespun arrived in my mailbox on Monday...
It has the finishing blocks and instructions and I am eager to get
stitching again beacause I think the "Home" block
looks much better in the completed quilt.....
There are also four pieced corner blocks to stitch
with wool felt flowers and bluebirds.....
I think I will stitch these first and them make
my decision on the "Home" block....
Who knows I might design my own....*Grin*....
Lots of stitching to keep me occupied in the School holidays....
Until next time, Happy Stitching
